EDAMS Asset Management (Natural Resources & Hydrology) is a specialised Windows-based Assets and Measurements register system that uses dedicated network data structures that have been specifically designed and developed for Government Authorities.
Fully integrated with leading Graphical Information Systems (GIS), it transforms it into a true network data modelling system through the association of element topology and network data.
The Natural Resources/Asset Management database (geographical and alphanumerical) allows for all Resources/Asset relevant to government departments in the areas of Agriculture, Natural resources and Environment. It allows for Groundwater (boreholes, aquifers), Meteorology (Rainfall, etc..), Surface water (catchments, rivers, dams, weirs, man-made structures, etc), Forestry, Wild Life & Fisheries, Veterinarian services (Farms & Establishments), Waste Management & Recycling and Geological features.
Depending on the Customer the appropriate databases are made live for full editing whilst the remainder are available for viewing and reporting.
The diagram below illustrates the implementation of the system for a typical Government department of Water Affairs operating under European Union directives.
