GIS Systems

Apart from the fact that GIS systems need to be implemented for EDAMS Management Systems to function effectively, Hydro-Comp undertakes as a service the formulation of strategic GIS deployment plans and assists Utilities in their full implementation.

EDAMS Management Systems Implementation

EDAMS Management Systems can be substantially configured and altered to suit the user environment. Customisation, particularly with regard to management reports and forms, is also done as part of the normal system implementation exercise

Formal system implementation and project management methodologies (RSIM) are used to ensure a properly implemented system with minimum disruption and upheaval to the user environment. These methodologies not only provide for the systematic analysis of user requirements and customisation and implementation of the systems, but also address the impact on the environment that surrounds the system (business processes, job descriptions, procedure, organisational structures, etc.) and the entire change management process. Formal, well documented, User & Management Training courses exist. All training is provided both in the English and the local language.

Data Capture Services

For thorough deployment of the EDAMS Management Systems and their effective utilisation in addressing the problems facing the Utility, it is important that appropriate data is available. This may already be in a digital format in many Utilities and in such cases data capture is not necessary. Although EDAMS Management Systems can be used to carry out data capture, it is not necessary to use them, as long as the data is captured in a readable format. Any such data capture can take place prior to the deployment of EDAMS Management Systems. It can also take place after deployment of the systems provided that, during deployment, data from a small area exists or is captured during systems implementation.
