Work plans are drawn up from the results of previous studies for execution in the field. The Utility can oversee the implementation of the work plans themselves or assign a local engineering company to do so. In particular, the following plans can be drawn up:
The Hydro-Comp approach has proven, in practice, to be more effective and, from the Utility’s perspective, less expensive than conventional methods.
The different types of studies offered are briefly described below. For most of the studies a more detailed description can be made available on request. Please note that although the various consulting studies outlined make use of EDAMS Management Systems, the Client does not have to purchase any of these. Working models of the systems will be presented at the end of the study and the Client will have the option to proceed with purchasing and implementing the systems.
Commercial Rehabilitation: The recorded information on the condition of meters and connections collected during the field exercises of the billing data validation exercise is used to compile a comprehensive commercial rehabilitation program that includes activities such as: meter replacement, fixing of leaking connections and repairs to meter boxes, etc.
Network Rehabilitation: The recorded information on the condition of pipes, valves, bulk meters, pumps, hydrants, lines, transformers etc., collected during the field exercises of the network data validation exercise is used to compile a comprehensive network rehabilitation program that includes activities such as leak repairs, valve repairs, chamber repairs, etc.
Network Optimisation: The recommendations made in the Network Optimisation study are implemented in the field. Such recommendations include remedial pipe work/lines, mainly to change zoning and upgrade highly undersized pipes/lines, meter installation, and the installation of pressure/voltage control devices, etc.
Network Upgrading: The recommendations made in the Master Plan study (Network Upgrading) are implemented in the field in stages as determined by the plan.
